National Association of Teachers of Singing is glad to make available a remarkable series of competitions for students. Through these programs, the organization wants to celebrate and promote the art of singing. There are four amazing contests available for individuals. The eligibility requirements vary from program to program.

The intention of these programs is to encourage young singers and help them fulfil their dreams. Each program has a different award amount, requirements and application deadline. Singing is a God-gifted talent, and nowadays, students seem to be interested in pursuing a career in this field. But finding the right platform to use and show your skills can be difficult for anyone. Keeping this in mind, the National Association of Teachers of Singing has created these programs which appear to be the right opportunity for young singers of our country. National Association of Teachers of Singing came into existence in 1944 as the largest professional association of teachers of singing in the world. It has more than 7,000 members in the United States, Canada, and more than 35 other countries. The mission of this organization is to advance excellence in singing through teaching, performance, scholarship, and research.

Each program has a different set of rules. Requirements are varied depending on the program you are applying for.

How to Apply

You can send your entry through the online portal of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Each competition has a different online portal. So you can use the portal of the program you are interest in. Portals are available on the main page of the National Association of Teachers of Singing that you can access by clicking on “Apply Now” below.

Benefits

NATS Artist Awards

  • Over $50,000 in cash and other prizes! The winner is awarded more than $13,000 in cash and prizes; the runner-up is awarded more than $6,000 in cash and prizes. Various other prizes and awards are given to participants in the competition.

National Musical Theatre Competition

  • The winner is granted more than $5,000 in prizes in addition to a concert at the next NATS National Conference; second prize winners will get more than $2,500; third prize is $1,000.

National Student Auditions

  • Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will total at least $35,000.

Art Song Composition Award

  • The winner is awarded $2,000 plus expenses to the NATS 57th National Conference in Chicago, July 2-6, 2022; the runner-up is awarded $1,000.
