2021 Morris J. & Betty Kaplun Essay Contest

Morris J. & Betty Kaplun Foundation is inviting students to participate in Essay Contest. This essay contest is conducted to make students understand Judaism’s contribution to civilization and culture. The students of grades 7 to 12 are encouraged to submit essays.

The purpose of the Morris J. & Betty Kaplun Foundation Essay Contest is to encourage students to think about their heritage, reflect on their values, and better understand Judaism’s contribution to civilization and culture. The prize awarded will help students in availing necessary commodities essential for studies like books and other school-related articles.

The Kalpuns were refugees from Nazi persecution and dedicated their lives to a variety of philanthropic causes. The foundation endeavours to continue their good work by administering by an annual essay contest for students in grades 7 through 12, and by awarding small grants to nonprofit organizations in U.S., Israel, and around the world.

Who May be Eligible?

Applicants interested in applying for Essay Competition should follow the following criteria

  • The applicant should be a student of grade 7 to 12.

Supporting document

  • The Essay must be a minimum of 250 words.

Benefits

The first-place winner will be awarded $1800 as a prize and the second-place winners will be awarded $500. Students can benefit from this award as an aid for academic expenses. The winning student can afford necessary commodities, and overcome financial hurdles.
