Minority Foreclosure Awareness Scholarship

Ohio Section AWWA is actively seeking applications for its Minority Foreclosure Awareness Scholarship open for 2021. The American Water Works Association has designed this opportunity to promote higher education in the water industry and encourage students to consider pursuing a course in this field. For this program, applications are open for those applicants residing in Ohio and attending an Ohio accredited institution of higher learning during the scholarship year in a water industry-related program. The award amount will be sent directly to the winners’ school to cover the cost of their advanced degree.

The water industry is a growing industry filled with lots of career opportunities. Students who are concerned about the water crises that our world is dealing with and who want to work toward water conservation and do something meaningful to create a better future seem willing to pursue a career in this field. This funding opportunity has been developed in an effort to give back to the individuals who can make a positive impact on this industry and our society.

American Water Works Association is an international nonprofit, scientific, and educational organization formed in 1881. It has been working toward improving water quality and supply. It home to 50,000 members from around the world. Its headquarters is based in Denver, Colorado, United States.

Who May Be Eligible

Applications are available for students residing in Ohio and attending an Ohio accredited institution of higher learning during the scholarship year in a water industry-related program.

Benefits

The scholarship award will be distributed in three categories:

  • First Prize – $4000
  • Second Prize – $3000
  • Third Prize – $2000
