Math Summer International Contest for 3 to 8 Grade Students

CKSTEM is organizing the competitive kid math summer contest for the kids of grades 3 to 8 from across the globe. The competition will be held online in two parts. Prelims will be held on June 26, 2021. The top 10% of candidates from the prelims will be eligible to take part in the final round. The questions will be related to the topics of arithmetic, prealgebra, algebra, numbers, counting and probability. The students will be divided into two groups one elementary for grades 3 to 5 and the other is middle school group for grades 6 to 8. Practice papers will be provided prior to the contest date and all the solutions will be published on the website once the test is over.  The contest will assess the problem-solving abilities where the students will have to apply different concepts together to solve a complex problem.

This is a great opportunity for your child to take part in the global competition. The top three winners will be awarded medals and $100 CAD vouchers for CKSTEM courses. The top 10% will be provided with certificates and $50 CAD vouchers and 25% will get $25 vouchers for CKSTEM courses. All the participating candidates will be given a certificate of participation. Plaques for the top 3 schools will be decided based on the score of the top 5 students of that school. This is a great chance to provide the students with huge exposure. Started in 2020, CKSTEM is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization engaged in enhancing kids’ education by enabling them to achieve excellence. CKSTEM summer contests 2021 is an initiative to provide students with the opportunity to compete in three areas, namely: mathematics, computing, public speaking and debate. This helps students with gaining experience of competing which boosts confidence and leadership which enhances their chance of succeeding in life.

Who May be Eligible?

All the candidates from across the globe who are currently studying in grades 3 to 8 are eligible to take part in the Competitive Kids Summer Contest. The entry levels will be divided into two categories:

  1. Elementary School (Gr- 3 to 5)
  2. Middle School (Gr- 6 to 8)

How to Apply?

The contest will be held in two parts. The details are listed below:

  1. Prelims: June 26, 2021.

The test will be divided into two sections. First will be a 10 minutes of mental math and drills. Section 2 will comprise 25 math problems related to arithmetic, algebra, prealgebra, geometry, numbers theory and counting and probability. This section will be for 45 minutes.

The top 10% of students will be the finalists and will move to the final contest.

  1. Final Round: July 24, 2021.

The contest will be proctored on Zoom. Students will have to solve 25 maths problems within 60 minutes. This round will mainly focus on problem-solving skills where candidates will have to have to connect multiple concepts to solve complex problems.

Note: The practice questions will be available on the website prior to the competition. Also, detailed solutions will be available for each contest.

Benefits

The top three candidates will be awarded medals and $100 CAD vouchers for CKSTEM courses. A certificate of merit will be given to the top 10 candidates along with $50 CAD vouchers for CKSTEM courses. Certificate of honourable mention will be provided to the top 25% with $25 CAD vouchers. Certification of Participation will be provided to all those who attempted the contest.
