Let’s Talk About Water Short Film Contest

We all aware of the problem of water scarcity that some of the countries around the world have been dealing with. Water is one of the most essential substances on earth, and without it, the future of humans cannot be imagined. In today’s time, where drinkable water is rapidly decreasing; thereby, most of us are facing serious challenges in life, the need for raising awareness about water conservation is presented in front of us. To do its part, the Global Institute of Water Security has taken initiative in the form of this “Let’s Talk About Water Short Film Contest”. This program is dedicated to informing, educating, inspiring and motivating people to come together and address the need to value water and share compelling narratives about water issues and solutions. From students, filmmakers to hydrologists, ecologists, geographers, social scientists, artists, or knowledge keepers are invited to apply.

To compete in this program, all you need to do is to create an engaging short video for the 2021 Water Film Prize and send it to the organization. The film, which will connect to people, inspire them to take action for water issues or understand the world more deeply, will be selected as the winner. The submission will be judged based on creativity, theme and impact. So make sure that your creation is compelling and holds the ability to make a positive impact. As a part of this program, you can polish your film making skills as well as do your part in increasing awareness of water conservation. This program will provide you with beautiful perks that will surely interest you. To create compelling content that can engage the audience and submit it by the application deadline. The program has no geographical restriction as well as no entry fee.

Launched in March 2011, the Global Institute of Water Security is a leading water resources research institute in Canada. It is also regarded as one of the most advanced hydrology research centres in the world. It has been devoted to protecting our precious freshwater resources and is led by Executive Director Dr Jay Famiglietti. The vision of this organization is to do research that enables and enhances water security.

Benefits

Adults Ages 18+ will get the chance to win a $10,000 Grand Prize, among other prizes. On the other hand, student participants have the opportunity to win $5,000 toward film and editing equipment for their schools.
