Mechanism Ventures knows that talent is distrusted equally, but the opportunity is not. As per a survey, there are lots of fields where black people have been underrepresented. When it comes to access to quality education, career progression, safety from police brutality and leadership, black people have been witnessing inequality for a long time. Since people are becoming more aware of such social causes, the situation in the country is getting change by each passing day. To contribute to this changing dynamic in the country, Mechanism Ventures has brought exciting scholarships which are open for black students. All majors are welcome to be a part of this opportunity. There is no restriction on study level and field.
The purpose of these programs is to create more black leaders, especially in the fields where they have to face underrepresentation. Society, where everyone shares equal rights, can walk on the path of progress. Through these scholarships, Mechanism Ventures seeks to help in building the country more equitable. There are 15 scholarships currently available for Black students and recent graduates across a wide variety of fields where opportunity is not equal. The strong candidates of these programs should be extremely ambitious, driven, and talented, and excel at dreaming big and starting small while building their vision for the future. Who May Be Eligible
All students at any level of study and pursuing any major are eligible to apply.
How to Apply
Students can apply through the online portal of Bold.org where sign up with their existed account to get the access of application form. Apart from this, they will also need to write down an essay of 500–1000 words. The essay must be answering the following questions:
- What do you hope to achieve in your life, and how are you preparing yourself to achieve it?
Benefits
The scholarship is worth $2,550. This award amount will be sent to the financial aid office of students’ current or future college in their name, and in the name of their institution. In case, their institution does not have a financial aid office; the amount will directly be paid to the winners. Through this amount, students can cover their educational expenses such as tuition, books, supplies and others.
