Hackley Public Library Summer Photo Challenge

The Hackley Public Library (HPL) is organizing its 2021 summer photography challenge where everyone is allowed to participate. The contest will be held under multiple categories each week. To participate, you have to post your photograph on Facebook corresponding to the week’s theme with the hashtag #HPLPhotoChallenge1, #HPLPhotoChallenge2, and so on. The challenge is open from June 14, 2021, to August 14, 2021. Submitted pictures will be gathered into folders for each prompt, and the public will be able to vote for their favorite pictures from each week by liking them.

This is a great opportunity for all the budding photographers to represent their creativity to the world. All the submissions will be posted on the Facebook page of Knapton HPL and will be open for voting. Everyone is invited to vote for the best photographs of their choice. The Photographs with the highest vote in each category will be declared as winners. This may act as a boost to your career. The opportunity should not be missed. Moreover, this is a fun contest which is open for all age groups.

HPL opened in 1890 as a library. The building, listed on the Michigan Register of Historic Places, was a gift from lumber baron Charles Hackley to the City of Muskegon Public Schools. The mission of the Hackley Public Library is to inform, inspire, and delight our diverse community by providing information, knowledge, literature, new technologies, and traditional and innovative programs. They are dedicated to promoting knowledge, understanding, free exchange of ideas, and wisdom. The library aims to conserve the national and local cultural heritage.

Who is Eligible?

The Hackley Public Library is organizing a photo contest under various categories and all individuals are eligible to participate. The categories include: Art Contest, Entertainment, Family, Feature, Outdoor event, Photography, etc.

How to Apply?

The contest will run from June 14, 2021 to August 14, 2021. To participate, follow the stated guideline:

Hackley Library will post picture prompts on the HPL Facebook page. Using the prompt as inspiration, participants are invited to post/submit 1 picture a week to the HPL Facebook page with the tag #HPLSummerPhotoChallenge1 (for week 1), #HPLSummerPhotoChallenge2 (for week 2) etc. Submitted pictures will be gathered into folders for each prompt, and the public will be able to vote for their favorite pictures from each week by “liking” them. At the end of the challenge, winners of each prompt will have their picture framed and displayed at HPL!
