Group on Earth Observations is calling artists from around the United States to take part in its “GEO Art Competition.” This contest is open for students, artists, scientists, and art enthusiasts. There is no restriction on education level and the field of study. Anyone, who admires the beauty of nature, strives to protect Mother Nature, and wants to contribute to educating people on the same, is welcome to become a contestant of this competition. The purpose of Group on Earth Observations behind the launch of this program is to know what people see, hear and feel living in their community, or their town, or their country, or our beautiful mother earth. This year, the program has come up with a fantastic theme that is “Mother Earth, I See You, I Hear You, I Feel You.”
GEO Art Competition is the very first contest of Group on Earth Observations. Entry can be in any form, whether art, photographs, or painting and video. You will have to express through your artwork how you connect with the theme of this program. For this competition, contestants will be judged and selected for the award by three distinguished judges. The successful candidates will be announced on 26 November 2021 during the closing ceremony of GEO Week 2021. All entries will be featured in GEO’s “Observing the Earth” FlipBook to promote our knowledge of our planet Earth.
Group on Earth Observations is a USA-based organization that works as a global network and connects connecting government institutions, academic and research institutions, data providers, businesses, engineers, scientists, and experts to find innovative solutions to the challenges that our world faces. In short, it coordinates the efforts of people and organizations, and governments worldwide to create a global earth observation system.

Students, scientists, artists, and art enthusiasts, anyone can apply.
How to Apply?
To participate in this competition, individuals will have to fill out an online application form with accurate information and submit it on time. Candidates can retain the copyright of the submitted materials.
Three outstanding judges will be finalized to select winners from submissions that perfectly meet the entry requirements. All accepted artwork will be published on the online competition platform, together with the full name of the participant and the abstract describing the submission. Entries will be judged based on originality, creativity, and storytelling, expression of the theme, overall impact, and visual appeal.
Rules
- It must be an original work of art.
- The artwork must be related to the theme of the competition.
- Photographs, paintings, digital art, mixed media, and short videos are accepted.
- A short abstract should accompany your artwork describing its connection to the theme of the competition.
- Artwork that has won in a previous competition may not be resubmitted.
- All work must be available in high resolution.
