The University of Massachusetts Amherst is offering its enormous Graduate Diversity Fellowship for students from historically underrepresented groups in the history of art and architecture. The purpose of the fellowship is to support an M.A. candidate who seeks to pursue an academic or professional career in art history but faces significant historical or economic barriers to graduate study further.
This Diversity Fellowship comes with a 20-hour/week position as a teaching assistant during the academic year for two years to complete the program. In the program, you’ll take courses about a diverse range of cultures, learning about them in intimate graduate seminars.

Benefits
This fellowship provides fellows with full tuition credit, 95% of health insurance costs, and an annual stipend of at least $20,000. For most students, this stipend is sufficient to cover local living expenses, including room and board during the academic year. The committee will provide the fellow with mentoring and academic and professional support throughout their time in the program.
