EAN Pages is very proud to host an excellent neurology essay competition this year for medical students. The contest is all set to occur this spring before the 7th EAN Congress, 19 – 21 June 2021. The goal of this program is to understand the reason why students choose neurology as a subspecialty and know the EAN members better while promoting neurology among undergraduate medical students. This competition will accept entries from undergraduate medical students who are the member of the EAN Pages. Furthermore, non-member medical students can also apply for this program, but they will have to get the membership before applying for this contest. The best part is the membership is free to charge for undergraduate medical students.
There is no geographical restriction for this program, so students of any nationality can participate in this competition. Medicine is a vast field that includes various disciplines to choose from. Neurology is the part of the medical field that deals with the anatomy, functions, and organic disorders of nerves and the nervous system consisting of the brain. In short, Neurology is the study of the brain and allows students to convert their skills in science, technology, medicine and engineering into real-life solutions. It is considered as one of the fastest-growing fields and has good scope. Having more leaders in this area means more solutions for mental problems. Who May Be Eligible
Candidates are required to meet the following eligibility criteria to get considered for this program:
- Aspirants must be an undergraduate medical student who is an EAN Student member.
- If you are a non-member, we would be delighted to welcome you as an EAN Student Member. Please apply here, the membership for undergraduate students is free of charge.
How to Apply
Candidates will have to complete an online application form that requires some personal information regarding name, email address, country name and education level etc.
Supporting Documents
Applicants will need to compose an essay that should not be longer than 750 words and submitted via an online form. Candidates can consider the following questions while writing the essay, but it is not necessary to answer the following questions. These questions are for students’ guidance only:
- Why is neurology vital to you?
- Why are you considering choosing Neurology?
- What are the most significant goals for you as a future Neurologist?
Entries will be judged according to the following criteria:
- The originality and quality of the essays,
- The ideas and concepts expressed within them,
- The creativity and clarity with which ideas are articulated

- There will be five travel grants of €300 to one of the next EAN Congresses, either 2022 or 2023, for the best five competitors.
- Winners will get an invitation to present their work at the 7th EAN Congress, and they will receive a certificate for their accomplishment.
