ECS Toyota Young Investigator PhD Fellowship

Together with the Toyota Research Institute of North America, the Electrochemical Society has designed an amazing ‘ECS Toyota Young Investigator Fellowship’. With the help of this program, the organizations request proposals from young professors and scholars pursuing innovative electrochemical research in green energy technology. The primary motive of this program is to inspire and support professionals and scholars to consider pursuing research into batteries, fuel cells and hydrogen, and future sustainable technologies. Applicants must be under 45 years of age and working in North America to qualify for this program. Moreover, aspirants must be a member in good standing of The Electrochemical Society (ECS).

The exciting part of this program is that there are no restrictions or reservations regarding age, sex, race, citizenship, etc. Candidates will have to submit an original research proposal for review by the ECS Toyota Young Investigator Fellowship Committee. All the entries received will be evaluated based on their alignment with Toyota’s current technical needs, the unique, innovative or unconventional nature of the technical approaches, and the feasibility of the technology to impact the field of green energy. Annually one candidate will be selected for this fellowship, and that successful recipient will get a restricted grant of no less than US $50,000 to start the research outlined in their proposal within one year and a one-year complimentary ECS membership.

The Electrochemical Society was begun to advance electrochemical and solid-state science and technology and allied subjects. It organizes meetings, publishes scientific papers, fosters training and education of scientists and engineers, and collaborates with other organizations to promote science and technology in the public interest that ultimately encourages research, discussion, critical assessment, and dissemination of knowledge in its focused fields.
