California School District Tells Parents Their Children Must Eat Lunch in the Rain due to COVID

A California school district recently sent an email to guardians letting them know that their kids will be constrained to have lunch outside in the rain due to Covid limitations.

“Rain is forecasted this week which will introduce an additional challenge to our lunch schedules,” Patwin Elementary School Principal Gay Bourguignon informed the guardians this week. “Students at DJUSD [Davis Joint Unified School District] will have to eat outside as of now because of COVID limitations. I’m requesting that you send your kids to school with rain gear and warm coats.”

The declaration brought about a furious reaction from many guardians who went to social media to communicate dissatisfaction with the assertion from the principal. The parents are not at all happy with this decision of the California school district.

Republican California state official Kevin Kiley recently tweeted on the following hot topic, “Cruelty to children has been normalized in California.”

Following the negative response from concerned Californians, the Davis Joint Unified School region delivered a subsequent email expressing that kids will be permitted to eat inside whenever it’s possible and are troubled because the district is confronting great difficulties as they try to keep up with their students’ wellbeing and security and limit the danger of COVID-19 contamination.

Following that email, Principal Bourguignon sent guardians the third email, recognizing that certain individuals were annoyed with the choice to compel children to eat in the rain

“A few guardians are exceptionally happy with our choice to have children eat outside, and others are concerned,” Bourguignon composed. “Our campuses aren’t great for eating outside because of the absence of a strong walkway cover. In a joint effort with our District staff, we took a gander at the choices in general. In the case of during noon, if we have a heavy storm of rain, it won’t be easy to eat under the covered walkways. “

“During heavy rain, we will have a staggered lunch with one grade level at a time in our MPR for 15 minutes with all ten doors open and two air purifiers running. After 15 minutes, students will be dismissed to their classrooms for inside recess. If you prefer that your child remains outside to eat, please inform your teacher, and we will make accommodations to support your request.” He added.

California has been at the focal point of the public discussion on the best way to battle the spread of the Covid among children, which was featured by a student walkout this week coordinated by bunches that go against mandatory vaccines for small kids.
