BHK Foundation Scholarship for High School Seniors

The BHK Foundation is proud to offer the BHK Foundation Scholarship to the students to help them with their educational expenses. This scholarship is for students graduating from the local high schools who participated in BHK Child Development Board programs as a child. Candidates should be currently enrolled senior who will graduate in the spring of 2021 from any high school serving Baraga, Houghton or Keweenaw counties to be eligible.

This scholarship helps make students successful by helping them with their educational expenses. The BHK Foundation motivates the fellows to move forward in their life and become successful person. This foundation is beneficial to the fellows and encourages them to contribute towards society’s progress through their education and knowledge. The process of scholarship is simple. The BHK Foundation scholarships may be used to cover any expenses related to post-secondary education, including tuition, housing, books, universities, supplies, and other costs at colleges, universities.

The BHK Foundation was formed in January 2005 to support BHK Child Development Board services and the programs. The continuation of this scholarship fund anticipates the generous donations of individuals in the community. The foundation is to the date giving the society with their different initiatives apart from their incredible services. The foundation is taking every possible step to ensure societal prosperity.

 Who May Be Eligible

Here are the needs which makes you eligible for these scholarships:

  • Students should be currently enrolled seniors who will graduate in the spring of 2021 from any high school serving Baraga, Houghton or Keweenaw counties.
  • Candidates must have attended early childhood or school-age programs operated by BHK Child Development Board.
  • Fellows should be pursuing further education at any higher education facility, advanced learning or training, including vocational or technical schools, colleges and universities.

To apply for this scholarship, students should download the application form. The application must be filled with all required documents and with materials. Late submission will be rejected. Submit all the necessary documents to the below address:

Supporting Documents 

  • Applicants must write a 6 paragraph essay, including the following topics:
  1. Describe how your life today was shaped by your early life experiences and how those experiences led you to your current pathway in life
  2. Explain how and by whom you were most influenced—share specific examples of how this person had a significant influence on your character, choices, career path, or other areas.
  3.  Describe how you will have a positive impact on children you may encounter in your life
  4. What are the essential habits/ideas/traits to instil in young children in your life? Explain why you believe this.

Benefits

The BHK Foundation will award an amount of $500 scholarships to students graduating from local high schools who participated in BHK Child Development Board programs as a child. This award will go to deserving candidates. Scholarship funds will be issued to the graduating senior after their proof registration at a college, university or trade school is provided to the BHK Foundation.
