BELONG in STEM Scholars Program

Northern Illinois University is happily inviting candidates to apply for its valuable BELONG in the STEM Scholars Program. Building Engagement in Laboratories, Networking, and Peer Groups in STEM Scholars Program is open only for United States citizen and permanent residents who demonstrate financial need. Fellows should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and junior status in fall 2021 majoring in any of these; geoscience, chemistry, biological sciences, computer science, geology, biochemistry physics, or mathematics seven departments.

Who May Be Eligible

If you are interested in the scholarship, please take a look at the requirements given below:

  • United States citizen and permanent residents who demonstrate financial need are eligible.
  • Fellows should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and junior status in fall 2021 majoring in any of these; geoscience, chemistry, biological sciences, computer science, geology, biochemistry physics, or mathematics seven departments.

How to Apply 

Eligible and interested students should apply for the scholarship through an online application form. Candidates should complete the application with all the required details with concern. The university will not entertain late or incomplete applications. Please submit all the required materials with care. Incomplete materials in the application will not be accepted for the scholarship.

Supporting Documents

  • Letter of recommendations from professor, teacher or instructor is accepted. Submit a letter to CLASS-STEM@niu.edu with your name in the subject and as the recommender’s name of their letter.
  • Personal statement describing your motivation, career goals, plans and more must be submitted.

Benefits

Selected students as a BELONG scholar will receive the award amount of $5000 each year. Candidates will receive $5000 for three years. This amount will only be utilized to pay education-related costs of the students. This scholarship encourages students to maintain a good academic record. This scholarship motivates students to benefit society with their education and achieve their dreams with hard work.

Deadline for this scholarship is January 31, 2021. The university will not accept incomplete and late applications.
