Annual Photography Contest for Undergraduates and Graduates

ASA, CSSA, and SSSA conduct an International Annual Meeting every year for a Creative Economy for Sustainable Development. This year’s contest starts on November 7 and ends on November 10 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They announced an annual photography contest where each of the winning photos will receive cash prizes. All submissions could be used for CSA News, Crops & Soils, websites, social media, and educational purposes. Science is much more than just what can be found in journals or labs. Photography is also a powerful way to tell the story behind science and what it means for different individuals. These individuals can display their visions by showing what inspires them in a farm landscape, wetland, forest, plant or soil through photos.

Photo contests can push contestants out of their comfort zones and test their creativity, innovation and skills against other photographers. Winners can receive either cash prizes or recognition and sometimes even both. They can have their photographs displayed in exhibitions and websites, which can improve the influence of participants. Both contestants and sponsors/organizers can promote themselves through such competitions.

The American Society of Agronomy, the Crop Science Society of America, and the Soil Science Society of America host a premier international scientific meeting, which can help create solutions to advance science. This meeting brings together leading and emerging scientific leaders from industry, government agencies, and academic institutions who are all working to advance agronomic, crop and soil sciences. Moreover, this event provides unlimited networking opportunities, innovative scientific abstracts, oral and poster sessions, a robust exhibit hall, technical workshops, and professional tours. Plus, there’s a career centre, graduate and undergraduate programs, distinguished lecturers, awards, continuing education units (CEUs), prizes, and much more.
