Ann Arbor District Library 6th Annual Lego Contest

Every year, AADL organizes a lego contest to foster creativity in children and adults. The AADL Lego contest has grown significantly each time it has been held, more than doubling in size since the first contest in 2006. Local LEGO aficionados assess works in seven age categories: preschool, grades K-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-8, grades 9-12, and adults. In each age category, many prizes are given out, including Best Architectural/Engineering, Coolest Robot, Best Vehicle, Most Creative, Most Sophisticated, and our AADL LEGO® Master Builder award. The AADL’s 16th annual Lego contest is open to all ages.

It will be hosted online this year because of Covid 19. To be a part of this contest, you must submit your lego build by submitting photographs or videos of your work to aadl.org/lego. Prizes will be given out in six (6) categories (the grade they will be entering in the autumn, with the exception of recently graduating 12th graders, who may still enter as 12th grade): preschool, kindergarten, grades K-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-8, grades 9-12, and adults.

The Ann Arbor District Library provides collections, activities, and leadership to encourage the growth of literate and informed citizens by providing fair and open access to cultural, recreational, intellectual, and information resources. Malletts Creek, Traverwood, Pittsfield, and Westgate are also branch libraries of the AADL.

Over 490,000 resources — books, DVDs, compact CDs, periodicals, audiobooks, and other media – are housed in the library system.
