This year, the university has made available these opportunities for both new and continuing students. These scholarships will be granted to all eligible students based on their academic achievement, leadership potential, special talents, and multicultural achievement. Candidates who are applying for or already enrolled in an undergraduate course at WWU will be considered for these opportunities.

WWU is currently providing scholarships for both in and out of state resident students. These scholarships don’t have a separate application process. New candidates will be selected for these funds at the time of admission. These scholarships will help students remove all the financial barriers hindering them from furthering their education in their chosen field of study. Most importantly, these programs will give recognization to students for their talent and achievements that will motivate them to maintain a good academic record.

Western Washington University is a reputed public university formed in 1893 as the state-funded New Whatcom Normal School. It offers a variety of bachelor and master’s degree programs to its students. This institution includes various colleges such as College of Business and Economics, College of Fine and Performing Arts, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, and Woodring College of Education.

Out of state resident students

  • Western Awards for Excellence – $32,000
  • Western Achievement Award – $24,000
  • Leadership, diversity & other scholarships – Educational fund
  • Multicultural Achievement Program Scholarship – $2,000-$3,000
  • Fairhaven College Entrance Scholarships – $500 per academic year
  • Pete Steffens Native American Scholarship – Educational fund
