The Western Reserve Herb Society (WRHS) offers a scholarship program for undergraduate students who have completed their second year/sophomore year of study. The students attending an accredited college or university in the United States with having GPA of 3.5 or more are eligible for this program. Many studies are related to horticulture and plant sciences, and many opportunities students can make their careers in. This scholarship program is giving preferences to those students who demonstrate exceptional dedication through outside experiences and who are looking forward to their career in areas such as the public and nonprofit sector teaching and research.
The applicant for awards will be selected based on their application, recommendation, and essays. The selected winner will receive an award amount of $14,000. The amount will be used for their educational purposes, such as tuition fees, books, and other materials, transportation, food, and other related expenses that are required to pursue their education. This will help students at a better level to lessen their financial burden so that they will be able to focus on their studies and achieve their educational and career goals.
The WRHS was founded on May 22, 1943, and is a long-standing community nonprofit organization with interest in growing and using herbs. They are working on the mission to share thus herbal knowledge with the community. Through this scholarship, they provide an opportunity to students who want to major in the plant sciences and related fields.

How to Apply?
The students who are eligible for this scholarship can fill out the application form by entering proper details in each field. With the application form, applicants must attach two essays; in the first essay, students must discuss their qualification for this merit scholarship and what they are doing to achieve their educational goals, their name along with “Personal Essay#1” should appear in the headline of the essay, and the second essay must include their career and professional goals following graduation based upon their academic major, and how do they propose to use their education, talents, and ambition to improve public culture with respect to the mission of the Western Reserve Herb Society. With this, applicants must send their official college transcript arranging with their college’s office of the Registrar/Registration & Records to send their scripts through email and one letter of recommendation from an instructor through the mail with a subject line of their name.
