Who May Be Eligible?
Here are the basic requirements students should follow to ensure their eligibility for the scholarships:
- Candidates must be high school seniors and active VEX members.
- Students should meet WPI admissions standards, and have demonstrated enthusiasm for engineering and science.
How to Apply
Students should first apply to WPI as a first-year student through the common application. Candidates should apply for the VEX scholarships through an online application form. All the supporting materials must be submitted via SlideRoom. All the needed documents should be sent with caution. Late or incomplete applications will be rejected.
Supporting Documents
- Scholarship Application.
- Letter of nomination from the adult team leader describing the applicants demonstrated enthusiasm for engineering and science. They should also show examples of applicant ability and innovation to succeed as an engineer or scientist.
- Students should submit their letter of recommendation via Slide Room.
- The video presentation that demonstrates a student’s involvement and contribution to their VEX team. The video should be no more than five minutes in length, and submissions should be a .mov, .wmw, .flv, .mp4 file or a link to your video presentation.
Benefits
WPI awards a grand prize scholarship of $80,000 ($20,000 per year, for four years) and two runner-up scholarships of $10,000 ($2,500 per year, for four years). This amount will be utilized to pay the educational expense of the student in their further studies.
