The mission of the Washington State Association for Justice has kicked off a fantastic funding program called “Women of WSAJ Bar Prep Scholarship.” Women of WSAJ raises funds to make possible this scholarship program targeted at empowering and encouraging female law school grads by helping defray the cost of their Themis bar preparation course. The criteria for selecting scholarship candidates are that applicants must self-identify as female preparing to take the Washington State bar exam in the next year. This program is focused on those applicants who demonstrate an interest and intent to practice in the plaintiff’s bar.
Apart from these criteria, other factors such as financial need, academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities, and life experiences, will be taken into consideration while selecting the winner for this financial aid opportunity. Education is costly in the United States, without any doubt. When it comes to law studies, it is imperative for students and their families to hold good financial resources so that no problem regarding funding education and expenses arises. In the United States, law education might cost you thousands of dollars. If you don’t come from a financially privileged background, you might find it hard to continue your learning journey at a reputed law school since there are many expenses involved in completing a law program. Women of WSAJ Bar Prep Scholarship will cover the cost of the Themis bar preparation course only. This scholarship will not support bar prep courses other than Themis.
Washington State Association for Justice is considered the oldest and largest civil justice advocacy organization based in Pacific Northwest. This organization collaborates with top law firms, attorneys, legal professionals, and consumer groups to protect the legal rights of wronged consumers, injured citizens, patients, and workers.

Who is Eligible?
The primary criteria for the selection of scholarship recipients are:
- Candidates must self-identify as female;
- Aspirants must demonstrate an interest and intent to practice in the plaintiff’s bar; and
- Applicant must be preparing the take the Washington State bar exam in the next year.
Benefits
This scholarship will provide financial support to students who are pursuing the Themis bar preparation course or wish to study the same. The financial support will be available for the Themis bar preparation course not other bar prep courses.
How to Apply
Candidates can apply for this program just by filling out an online application form that should have all correct and complete information. Fake and incomplete information might lead to disqualification. Please attach a brief essay, not to exceed two pages, typed and double spaced, stating why you would like to be considered for this scholarship. Your essay should primarily discuss your ideal law practice post-graduation and how that practice fits into WSAJ’s mission. Please feel free to provide any additional background information you would like.
