Wilke S. and James W. Lemon Scholarships for High School Seniors 

The Friendship State Bank has proudly come forward with an excellent opportunity for high school seniors. Friendship State Bank is offering Wilke S. and James W. Lemon Scholarship for the year 2020-2021. This scholarship is initiated to be awarded to the seniors who demonstrate a commitment to community service in each of the five counties that the Bank serves. Students from Ripley, Dearborn, Jefferson, Ohio and Switzerland Counties can avail this scholarship.

The Friendship State Bank is an insurance agency that is willing to contribute to the development of their community’s youth. To offer a helping hand to the high school seniors of their community, they’ve come forth with this scholarship. Students have a great opportunity to apply for this scholarship and make themselves burden free from all the financial issues that they face. The amount of scholarship will help them with their educational expenses and thus reduce their financial stress.

Who May Be Eligible

Eligibility criteria for the Wilke S. and James W. Lemon Scholarship are listed below:

  • Applicants must possess a 2.5 or better cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Candidates must be planning to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.
  • Fellows must be a senior attending a high school located in the following five Indiana counties:
  1. Ripley – South Ripley High School, Jac-Cen-Del High School, Milan High School, Batesville High School, Oldenburg Academy
  2. Dearborn – South Dearborn High School, Lawrenceburg High School, East Central High School
  3. Jefferson – Madison Consolidated High School, Southwestern Consolidated High School, Shawe Memorial High School, Christian Academy of Madison
  4. Ohio – Rising Sun High School
  5. Switzerland County – Switzerland County High School

Application deadline must be followed strictly. Any late or incomplete applications will not be considered for the scholarship.

Supporting Documents 

  • Applicants must fill in all the information in the application form.
  • Candidates must attach a 250 or less word essay. This essay must be detailing one community involvement activity, the impact it made on them or the community, and why.

Benefits 

Five scholarship winners will be announced for the Wilke S. and James W. Lemon Scholarship. These five winners will be awarded $1,000 scholarship rewards each. These scholarships help students to focus on their studies. These scholarships reduce the financial stress of the students.
