Weather Photography of the Year International Competition

Accu Weather and the Royal Meteorological Society are happy to announce its contest the 2018 Photography Competition. Through the competition, they are looking for the best photographs from around the world that depict weather in its widest sense.

They encourage entries from the United Kingdown and from all countries outside of the UK. There are two categories for the competition 17 years and over and 16 years and under and the theme of this contest is weather photography.

The winner weather photographer will get £500 cash plus Olympus TG-5 Tough camera plus RMetS membership for the year.

Who May Eligible:

To eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:

  • The photographer aged must be 17 years and over, and 16 years and under
  • International photographer
  • Must be a weather photographer

How to Apply &and Competitions Rules:

To participate, the applicants must register and submit an application online form through the given link: https://www.weather-photo.org/account/register/

Rules:

  • You can upload up to 6 images.
  • Any images you upload must be your own photograph – they must not have been taken by another photographer or be an image you have found on the internet. Ask your friend to upload his/her own image.
  • Images in color or monochrome can be submitted
  • Only JPG files will be accepted
  • Images are a maximum of 2500 pixels wide (if landscape) or 2500 pixels high (if portrait) and a maximum size of 5Mb in JPG format.
  • Images should be in sRGB color space.
  • This could range from weather phenomena such as clouds, lightning, rain, fog and wind through to the impact of weather on man, cities and the natural landscape.

Benefits:

The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd  place will be awarded in both age categories, as well ‘The Public’s Favourite’ and the overall Weather Photographer of the Year 2018.

The winner weather photographer will be awarded via £500 cash plus Olympus TG-5 Tough camera plus RMetS membership for the year

  1. Weather Photographer of the Year (17 Years and above) will get:
  • First Runner-Up – £250 cash plus RMetS membership for the year
  • Second Runner-Up – £200 cash plus RMetS membership for the year
  • Third Runner-Up – £150 cash plus RMetS membership for the year

Young Weather Photographer of the Year 2018 (16 Years and under):

  • Young Weather Photographer of the Year 2018 – £100 cash + Olympus TG-5 Tough camera + RMetS membership for the year
  • Runner-up –  £50 cash + RMetS membership for the year

Application Deadline:

Entries close at 12 noon on Tuesday, 5 June 2018. The winners will be announced in Autumn 2018.
