Simpson Center is introducing excellent fellowship opportunities to the University of Washington doctoral students for introducing them with real work experience. These fellowship programs designed with different eligibility and benefits will add a lot of value to the cv of students. The Walter Chapin Simpson Center for Humanities is accepting applications for Summer Digital Humanities Fellowships, Society of Scholars Research Fellowships, Summer Society of Scholars Research Fellowships to do different research, and expand their practical knowledge.
The goal of this program is to help the students to do new researches and add real experience to their careers. It encourages the students to do well and perform extraordinarily in their careers. It aims to build strong and vigorously growing careers. These programs support students with funding amounts as well as necessary guidance to expand their knowledge and the field.
Since 2000, the Simpson center has funded UW faculty members with 170 Society of scholar’s fellowships, 30 Digital humanities summer fellowships, and 19 Mellon summer fellowships for reaching new publics. Graduate students have been awarded 72 society of scholar’s fellowships, and 24 Mellon fellowships reaching new publics. The Simpson Center offers UW scholars varied opportunities for the intellectual community, professional development, and financial support that advance cross-disciplinary understanding, collaboration, and research.

Who May Be Eligible?
Eligibility requirements for each fellowship program differ as follows:
- Summer Digital Humanities Fellowships
Doctoral students pursuing research projects that use digital technologies in innovative and intensive ways and/or explore the historical, social, and cross-culture implications of digital cultures.
- Society of Scholars Research Fellowships
Doctoral students from across disciplines in the humanities and interpretive social sciences are eligible.
- Summer Society of Scholars Research Fellowships
Doctoral students who submit applications during the fall 2020 funding round top the Society of Scholars Research Scholarship category are eligible
How to Apply
The center encourages applicants to have a meeting with the assistance Director Rachel Arteaga before applying. Candidates need to fill the proposal information form with all necessary details and the documents. Applicants should bundle their proposal into a single PDF and name the file “{Your last name)-(Project Title)”. All the applications should be submitted before the deadline to be considered.
