ViacomCBS has partnered with UNCF to bring a wonderful funding program into existence for students.ย  With the generous support of UNCF, ViacomCBS has presented โ€œViacomCBS Scholarshipโ€ that aims to make financial aid available for talented African-American students who are facing monetary issues as they further their education. This is a need-based scholarship that can be availed by rising African American college juniors who exemplify strong leadership abilities and exhibit an interest in media, entertainment, or sports. This scholarship is awarded for the academic year 2021-2022 and will be renewed for one year if the contestants continue to meet the eligibility requirements.

The motive of this program is to recognize the achievements of African-American students and encourage them to keep doing well in their studies by providing them financial assistance. Who is Eligible?

Candidates are required to meet all the requirements given below:

  • Applicants must be self-identify as African American/Black/belonging to the African Diaspora, and be a US citizen or permanent resident;
  • Candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student for the fall 2021 semester as a college junior at any UNCF member institution or other HBCU;
  • Entrants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
  • Aspirants must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have a demonstrated unmet financial need, as verified by the applicantโ€™s institution.

How to Apply?

Candidates should go to the online portal of UNCF, where they will have to log in or sign in to access the online application form. Students who donโ€™t have an account can register in order to be eligible to fill out the application form. Or they can log in using their Google or Facebook accounts.
