A student painting competition is being held by the Vermont Wildlife Coalition for children in grades seven through twelve. 2D works of art in oils, acrylics, watercolors, pencil, ink, or pastels are encouraged. It is lamented that digitally made art will not be accepted as part of the competition. Any Vermont wildlife, from insects and snakes to coyotes, bobcats, and bears, can be the subject of the painting! You can t take a look at the Vermont animal images.
The artwork can be of any size where you can submit more than one piece of your artwork. By December 1st, you can send us one or more digital images of your artwork to info@vtwildlifecoalition.org. The contest’s goal is to raise awareness about Vermont’s wildlife. Between December 2nd and December 15th, judges will choose the best 25 pieces of artwork. On December 17th, the winners will be revealed. A jury of nationally acclaimed wildlife painters will assess the submissions. When assessing, judges will take into account the artist’s grade level to ensure that the competition is fair for the younger artists. The prizes will be given to the top 4 winners, the first winner gets the prize money of $1000, the second gets the $750, the third gets $500 and the fourth winner gets the prize money of $250. The top 25 picks will get award certificates. The top 25 picks will be shown on one or more sites. The deadline to submit the work is December 1, 2021. You have to submit your artwork through an application form provided on the website.
