USI Freshman Art & Design Scholarships

University of Southern Indiana College of Liberal Arts is introducing its Freshmen Art & Design Scholarships. Incoming USI first-year students who major in art or art education are eligible for these generous scholarships. These scholarships are automatically renewed for three years, depending on the enrollment status and academic standing.

The goal of the scholarships is to make the candidate’s education easy in the university. The program is designed to encourage the students to do better in the fields of arts. As these are renewable scholarships, it motivates the candidates to maintain an excellent academic record and standard to keep on enjoying the benefits for further years. These scholarships make sure students in the university in the fields of arts are completing their education without worrying about academic debts. This scholarship provides needed financial support.

Founded in 1965, the University of Southern Indiana enrolls over 10,000 dual credit, undergraduate, and graduate students in more than 130 areas of study. A public higher education institution, located on a beautiful 1,400-acre campus in Evansville, Indiana, USI offers programs through the College of Liberal Arts, Romain College of Business, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education. The university provides different scholarships to fund the student’s education and make their academic journeys easy.

Who May Be Eligible?

The eligibility requirements of the scholarships are given below:

  • Incoming USI Freshmen who has declared an art or art education major are eligible to apply for the scholarships.

How to Apply

Candidates need to submit the online scholarship application. This application will consider for all the scholarships. Students should provide all the required information in the application. The university will not entertain late or incomplete applications. All the needed materials should be provided with concern to be considered for the scholarships. Candidates are responsible for providing adequate details and documents through the form. Please make sure the portfolio you provide belongs to you.

Supporting Documents

  • Artist Statement: A one-paragraph statement (200-250 words) telling about your artwork, your creative influences, and where you get your ideas.
  • Goals Statement: A statement (250-500 words) telling about your creative goals, your educational goals, and your career aspirations.
  • Images: 8-12 images of your best artwork saved as a single PDF. The images in your PDF file should correspond to the information on your Image List (see example)
  • Image List: A numbered list that includes the title of each work, media, dimensions of work, and year the work was created.

Benefits

USI Freshmen Art Scholarship Awards range from $500-$2500 and are automatically renewed for the following three years if the student remains an enterprising art major, maintains their full-time status, and remains in good academic standing.  All USI Art Scholarship Awards apply to student tuition. The Sol and Arlene Bronstein Art Scholarship is awarded to ONE incoming freshman art or art education major.  The scholarship is valued at $1,000 per academic year, renewable for up to three years, and may be applied to student tuition, fees, and supplies.
