To avail of merit-based scholarships, students must demonstrate good academic records. Established in 1787, the University of Pittsburgh was founded as the Pittsburgh Academy. It received its current name after shifting to the Oakland neighbourhood of the city. How to Apply
There is no separate application required to avail of the scholarships. Students will have to complete and submit the admissions application to be considered for merit scholarships. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the university opts for the test-optional where standardized test scores do not remain mandatory.

Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes as below:
- University Scholarships: Award money of $2,000 per year to $25,000 per year for four years, maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Diversity Scholarships
-The Cathedral of Learning Achievement Scholarship: Annual award amount includes $5,000, $10,000, and $15,000
– The Cathedral of Learning Prestige Scholarship: Covers full tuition
- International Freshmen Scholarships: Award money of $2,000 per year for up to 4 years, maintaining a 3.0 GPA
The application deadline for International Freshmen Scholarship is February 4, 2021. Other merit scholarship applications must be submitted on or before December 15, 2020. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
