Who May Be Eligible?

  • Applicants should have a Competitive high school academic records, including grades, class rank, and ACT or SAT scores.
  • Fellows should be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Candidates should be enrolled at MU the first semester after high school graduation.
  • Membership in a racial or ethnic minority group that is underrepresented concerning the university’s goal to achieve the educational benefits of a diverse student body will be considered.
  • The first preference is given to Missouri residents.
  • Students admitted on probation are not eligible for the Diversity Award.

There is no specific form to be filled for this award. The admission application of the candidate itself is considered as the application for this award. Applicants should ensure they provide all the needed details and materials in their admission application enough to be considered for an award. All admitted students are automatically reviewed for consideration for the scholarship, and students who are eligible for the scholarship will be notified. The Missouri resident will receive $2,500 per year; while a Non-Missouri resident will get a Waiver of nonresident tuition (approximately $15,838). Waiver of nonresident tuition is for a total of 8 regular semesters (fall and spring), students are not eligible for the waiver during summer terms. This is a renewable award; candidates need to maintain academic standards to qualify for renewal. Another application process should be followed during the renewal.
