The University of Alabama is reaching out to out-of-state students by offering them wonderful scholarships to avail. The University of Alabama will use the Competitive Academic Scholarship Review Scale to lessen the stress surrounding entrance exam testing availability by presenting comparable scholarship values to only the top applicants in the scholarship application pool.

Eligible candidates who may apply are:

  • Freshmen applying to Undergraduate courses
  • Average weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • US citizens

How to Apply

Students must apply for admissions before the deadline to be considered for the scholarships. The FAFSA is not mandatory, although it is recommended that students submit it for smooth financial aid processes.

UA Competitive Academic Scholarship

  • Tier one of the best scholarship applications: 3.70+ Core GPA will be awarded amount of $28,000. 3.50-3.69 Core GPA will be awarded the amount of $24,000. 3.0-3.49 Core GPA will be awarded amount of $15,000
  • Tier two of the best scholarship applications: 3.70+ Core GPA will be awarded an amount of $15,000. 3.50-3.69 Core GPA will be awarded the amount of $10,000. 3.0-3.49 Core GPA will be awarded amount of $8,000
  • Tier three of the best scholarship applications: 3.70+ Core GPA will be awarded an amount of $8,000. 3.50-3.69 Core GPA will be awarded the amount of $6,000. 3.0-3.49 Core GPA will be awarded amount of $6,000

Automatic Merit Scholarship will need standardized test scores submitted before February 1, 2021

  • Presidential: Award amount of $28,000 with GPA 3.50+ for four years. 32-36 ACT or 1420-1600 SAT
  • UA Scholar: Award amount of $24,000 with GPA 3.50+ for four years. 30-31 ACT or 1360-1410 SAT
  • Foundation in Excellence: Award amount of $15,000 with GPA 3.50+ for four years. 29 ACT or 1330-1350 SAT
  • Foundation in Excellence: Award amount of $15,000 with GPA 3.0-3.49 for four years. 30-36 ACT or 1360-1600 SAT
  • Collegiate: Award amount of $10,000 with GPA 3.50+ for four years. 28 ACT or 1300-1320 SAT
  • Capstone: Award amount of $8,000 with GPA 3.50+ for four years. 27 ACT or 1260-1290 SAT
  • Capstone: Award amount of $8,000 with GPA 3.0-3.49 for four years. 28-29 ACT or 1300-1350 SAT
  • Crimson Legends: Award amount of $6,000 with GPA 3.50+ for four years. 25-26 ACT or 1200-1250 SAT
  • Crimson Legends: Award amount of $6,000 with GPA 3.0-3.49 for four years. 27 ACT or 1260-1290 SAT

Presidential Elite Scholar: Students with a 4.0 GPA and a 36 ACT or 1600 SAT will be selected as a Presidential Elite Scholar and shall receive:

  • Full tuition for up to 4 years for degree-seeking undergraduate studies
  • One year of on-campus housing at a regular room rate
  • $1,000 per year stipend for four years
  • $2,000 one-time allowance for use in summer research or international study (after completing one year of study at UA)
  • $2,000 book scholarship ($500 per year for four years)

Application Deadline

The application deadline is January 15, 2021. Students must review their application properly before submitting it. Incomplete and late submissions will be disqualified.
