The United Methodist Thrift Shop aims to help students achieve their dreams. The purpose of the United Methodist Thrift Shop is to provide financial support to individuals pursuing a career who wholeheartedly are taking active involvement and faith in God. They are looking for students who believe it is important to have a faith-based life and have kept their involvement through their high school years. They want to know who we are, how we are involved with that faith, and how that has helped us in life. Their mission is to purposefully live for Christ, share the Gospel, and love all in fellowship and communities.
The MTS Board has established a scholarship fund to further the education of La Plata County high school graduates. They are a faith-based organization that encourages the participation of all faiths. What makes their scholarship unique is the qualification of an applicant being involved with your faith of choice. For applying for this scholarship, the Applicants do not have to be Methodist, but the first qualification for eligibility is that the applicants are actively involved with their faith. They trust that we can always talk with God through prayer. And that the privilege of prayer is powerful in moving God’s hand to meet needs, offer comfort, get us through problems and sickness through His strength and not our own. That is why the candidates will be judged based on faith involvement, leadership, community service, extracurricular and personal attributes.

Applicants must submit all the required documents along with the application before the deadline. When applicant saves their completed application, rename the file with their name followed by MTS Scholarship (FIRST LAST MTS Scholarship) and send it along with their other supporting documents to Scholarshipmts@gmail.com. You may submit a Word document or PDF file.
