Do you have an interest in Puppetry? If yes, then you have good news. Puppetry Education is offering the UNIMA-USA scholarship program for the students having a passion for Puppetry’s art. Candidates who are university graduates and have experience in Puppetry are invited to apply for the scholarship program.
The UNIMA-USA scholarship program aims to allow students to study Puppetry outside the United States at the best institutions. The scholarship program intends to provide financial assistance to the deserving puppeteers.
UNIMA-USA, founded in 1966, is the North American Center of Union Internationale de la Marionnette, the oldest international theatre organization in the world, founded in 1929. The organization’s mission is to promote international understanding and friendship through the art of Puppetry.

Who May be Eligible?
The candidates interested in applying for the UNIMA-USA scholarship program must abide by the eligibility criteria-
- Candidates must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
- The candidate must be a current member of UNIMA-USA to apply for scholarship funds.
- The candidate must be over the age of 18.
- Candidates must have some experience in Puppetry or/and a university degree showing an interest in Puppetry.
How to Apply?
To apply for the UNIMA-USA scholarship program, the applicant must submit an Online Application Form. The candidate must fill in all the required details with concern and attach all the supporting documents asked with the application form. The applicant must apply via email to scholarship@unima-usa.org.
Supporting documents
- The candidate must provide three letters of recommendation from master puppeteers or professors in puppet theatre with whom the candidate has worked with.
- The candidate must submit five images of work.
Benefits
UNIMA-USA scholarship program will award $1000. The recipient of the award will be able to study Puppetry abroad. The award will help cover tuition fees of Puppetry for the beneficiary. The recipient will be able to afford essential commodities and overcome financial barriers.
Application Deadline
To be considered for the scholarship, entrants should apply before the deadline. The application deadline for the UNIMA-USA scholarship program is December 15, 2020. Applications won’t be accepted beyond the deadline.
