Applications are available to apply for one of the four scholarship awards organized by the Unico Foundation, Inc. The high school seniors who are attending full time, an accredited campus-based college or university program within the United States are eligible.
The grants will be an enormous amount to pay for any higher cost of education. The foundation decided to introduce these awards to support various students in their studies. The recipients will get hands full of assistance to complete their goals.
Unico was founded on October 10, 1922, in Waterbury, Connecticut. It has donated approximately $1 million to various charities.lt has taken a leading position in combating the negative stereotype of Italian Americans, in the electronic and the print media.

Who May Eligible?
The below-mentioned requirements should be fulfilled by the candidates to qualify the program:
- Shall be a United States citizen of Italian descent, i.e. must have at least one parent of Italian heritage.
- Must reside in the home state of an active UNICO Chapter.
- Must be a senior at any public or private secondary school.
- Must submit either SAT or ACT scores.
- Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
- Financial need will be considered. In assessing need, the numbers, ages and schooling requirements of siblings and other extraordinary expenses will be taken into account.
- Family members of UNICANS may be sponsored by their respective Chapters.
- Must pursue his/her course of college study within the academic year of the scholarship grant. Any deviation will result in forfeiture.
- Online degree programs are not eligible for UNICO scholarships.
How to Apply
The eligible students can enter the program by answering to some Pre-Qualifying Questions before the application process. The qualified candidates will then move to the further steps of the application process, which will require filing a scholarship form.
Rules
- Recipients will be required to submit a photo upon notification.
- Recipients may not apply for any other UNICO Foundation Scholarships while this award is still active.
- A candidate must initiate only one application for each appropriate scholarship. Duplicate entries will be excluded from consideration. An application may be edited, as often as necessary, before submission.
Benefits
The Unico Foundation is awarding 4 Scholarships of amount $6,000 each to deserving students. The recipients will get amount $1,500 per school year, up to a maximum of 4 years.
