UHD Scholarships

The University of Houston Downtown is now offering scholarships and accepting applications for the academic year 2021-2022. These scholarships are being offered to students aspiring to become teachers and social workers by the College of Public Service. Students applying for these scholarships are required to be enrolled with the College of Public Service. They must have the zeal and confidence needed to become social workers and teachers, both important cornerstones of modern society.

The University of Houston Downtown has collaborated with multiple private and government-owned organizations to secure scholarship opportunities for students in need of one. The rising cost of higher education has made it financially challenging to access a lot of programs offering specialized courses for a fee. A financial burden of that scale often puts pressure on students and distracts them from their studies. The University of Houston Downtown understands that predicament and Provides scholarships to deserving students so that they can focus their energies on sharpening their skills.

The University of Houston Downtown first opened its doors to students in 1974. The university offers 4-year bachelor’s and master’s courses aimed at career preparation. The university boasts a 20-to-1 student to faculty ratio, with multiple campuses apart from the main campus in Downtown Houston. The university also offers courses at one of the lowest tuition rates amongst state universities and offers a myriad of both online and offline courses.
