To apply for this scholarship, you must be a full-time student and submit an essay that focuses on what financial freedom means to you, its importance and what your plans are for achieving it. The essay must be between 1000 and 2000 words long.

As a way to recognize how a young person can deal with that loss, by their character and perseverance, Life Happens is the sponsor for this scholarship, aimed at college students and college-bound high school seniors. To apply, the contestant has to submit a video or essay reflecting the impact the death of a parent had on their lives.
