Johns Hopkins University

Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health was founded in 1916 by William H. Welch and John D. Rockefeller. The Master of Public Health program at the JHBS offers students full time (11 months), part-time and online (2-3 years) options for earning an MPH degree. Studying at the Bloomberg School means unparalleled training for tackling the world’s most pressing public health issues. The Bloomberg School offers classes in a quarter system. Therefore, 80 quarter system credits are equivalent to approximately 53-semester system credits. It ranked #1 by U.S. News & World Report since 1994. University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill

The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health is an American university program offering undergraduate and graduate education in various fields of public health and allied sectors. It is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. Students admitted to the MPH degree program must have a prior doctoral degree (MD, DVM, DDS, Ph.D., etc.) or must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program. Harvard University

The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health MPH is a school-wide degree emphasizing active, student-directed learning, and the acquisition of skills essential to the practice of public health. Students’ programs are organized around career-oriented fields of study. Each field of study has a focused curriculum with room for electives that allow for additional depth in areas relevant to a student’s personal and professional goals. No matter the field of study, the curriculum is designed to help you gain mastery of core MPH and field of study competencies. As a school-wide program, the MPH program is based within the Office of Education. Each field of study is also affiliated with at least one academic department. University of Michigan

The University of Michigan School of Public Health began its pursuit of a healthier world in 1941. It is pursuing a healthier, more equitable world through education, research, and action. Ranked among the top public health schools in the country, Michigan Public Health educates and trains more than 1,000 graduate and undergraduate students each year. The M.P.H. in G.E. is earned in either 60- or 42-credit hours, depending on previous training and degrees.  The 42-credit program is intended for students already holding a doctoral degree (M.D., D.D.S., D.V.M., Ph.D.). Both programs provide students with the knowledge and skills required to practice epidemiology in diverse settings and positions of employment.  Applicants to the program hold bachelor’s degrees in fields including, but not limited to biology, pre-med or pre-dental studies, nursing, zoology, microbiology, mathematics, psychology, sociology, and anthropology.

The University of Washington School of Public Health is the only public health school that was founded on July 1, 1970. At Berkeley, the MPH degree program is designed to be completed in two years. There is also an 11-month program in some areas of study, which is intended for students who already have doctoral degrees or who are enrolled concurrently in a doctoral program.
