Bobette Bibo Gugliotta Memorial Scholarship for Creative Writing

Silicon Valley Community Foundation is now offering a memorial scholarship for students majoring in the creative writing field and who have demonstrated creative writing ability. The program is open to United States citizen or eligible non-citizen (eligible non-citizens include United States legal residents and A.B. 540 students) who are planning to enroll or currently enrolled in a four-year college or university as a full-time student. Winners will get up to $1,000 award.

Writer’s Digest Poetry Awards Program

The Writer’s Digest is glad to offer a Writer’s Digest Poetry Awards Program to international and United States students. The purpose of the program is to help the writer. This program is the only Writer’s Digest competition exclusively for poets.  The students will get $1,000 for first place, $250 for second place, $100 for third place.

The Fleet Reserve Association is pleased to announce the Fleet Reserve Association Essay Contest for U.S. students. Applicants must be in grades 7 through 12 at time of application. The grand-prize winner will be selected to receive $5,000 and other awards in the form of U.S. Savings Bonds such as $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000.

Helen McCloy Scholarship

The Helen McCloy/MWA Scholarship for Mystery Writing seeks to nurture talent in mystery writing—in fiction, nonfiction, playwriting, and screenwriting. The scholarship is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents only. The McCloy Scholarship is intended for serious aspiring mystery writers who wish to improve their writing skills. MWA will present two scholarships for up to $500 each. The scholarship shall be used to offset tuition and fees for writing workshops, writing seminars, or university/college-level writing programs taking place in the U.S. in summer, fall or winter of 2018 or early spring 2019.
