Welcome, aspiring scholars! The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Deloitte Foundation are delighted to present the HBCU Accounting Scholarship Program for the 2024-2025 academic year. This initiative aims to provide financial support to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) pursuing a degree in accounting.
Scholarship Overview
In collaboration, TMCF and Deloitte Foundation will award up to Seventy (70) scholars with a generous scholarship of $8,000. This financial assistance is designated for the 2024-2025 academic school year, applicable to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees. Importantly, the scholarship may be renewable for multiple years, fostering sustained support for academic endeavors.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Focus: Open to Accounting majors or high school seniors interested in majoring in accounting.
- Matriculation Status:
- High school seniors graduating in spring 2024, matriculating full-time to a four-year HBCU as first-year students in the 2024-2025 academic year.
- Community college students transferring to a four-year HBCU as first-year students, sophomores, or juniors in the 2024-2025 academic year.
- Full-time students currently enrolled at an HBCU as first-year students or sophomores during the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Academic Achievement: Maintain a current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- Financial Need: Demonstrate a genuine financial need.
- Citizenship: Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
Benefits
The scholarship amount is $8,000 and can be applied to tuition and usual fees. Importantly, the scholarship is renewable, providing long-term support for your academic journey.
Application Process
All applicants are required to submit a video response (maximum of 2 minutes) addressing the following statement:
“Tell us about a time when you succeeded or failed. What were your learnings from the experience?”
