The Veterans of Foreign Wars Youth Scholarships

If you are a democracy-loving high school student interested in youth Scholarships, then you will glad to know that Youth Scholarships are available for you. This program is recognized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

VFW is dedicated to promoting patriotism and investment in his future generations. The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veteran’s service organization. The mission of this organization is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts.

Who May Eligible

The Program is open to students in grades 9-12, who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States and its territories.

How to Apply

  • To be eligible for this award, students must download the Voice of Democracy entry form and brochure to submit your essay to your local VFW Post. All entries begin at the local VFW Post level.
  • Students should record their reading of the draft to an audio CD or flash drive. The recording can be no shorter than three minutes and no longer than five minutes (plus or minus five seconds).
  • Once the student creates their essay and completes burning the audio version to an audio CD/flash drive, they can submit their typed version, CD/flash drive.

Benefit

  • The recipient of the national first position gets a $ 30,000 scholarship directly from the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school.
  • A complete list of other national scholarships ranges from $1,000-$16,000.

Application Deadline: All competing entries application of this program will be closed on midnight, Oct. 31, 2019.
