Writing is incredibly therapeutic, and many individuals are motivated to write to experience the most intense emotions. Writing empowers us to make sense of our feelings, express ourselves in ways we may not be able to do aloud, and be honest with ourselves about how we feel. Writers write for a variety of reasons. Some do it solely because they believe they have a piece of literature inside them that needs to be released, others because they want others to comprehend their experiences, and yet others because they want their writing to inspire others. If you can use your words to inspire others, the Tu/Orvis Teen Essay Contest is likely to be the ideal opportunity for you.

All authors agree to authorize Trout Unlimited and Orvis to re-post their work on their websites, TROUT magazine, and promote it through suitable TU and Orvis social media platforms.
