Who May Be Eligible?
Please have a look at the following requirements before applying:
- The Islander newspaper’s top Notch Photo Contest is stringently for novice artists who receive less than 5 percent of their income from picture-taking.
- Photos earlier distributed (in any format/media) or registered in any islander or other contest is not eligible.
- Workers and paid subscribers to the islander and their direct family members are not eligible to enroll in the competition.
How to Apply
Contest entries must be submitted in original jpg format via email to topnotch@islander.org
Rules:
- Each original jpg must be included in a single email with the photographer’s name, the date the photo was taken, location and description, names of recognizable people, and address and phone number for the photographer.
- Digital submission is required.
- One photo per email is allowed, along with entry information in the email text.
- There is no limit to the number of weekly entries.
- Entries that fail to meet the contest requirements are disqualified.
- Entrants must provide the original digital image.
- The islander and contest sponsors assume no responsibility for materials submitted.
Benefits:
There are two categories in the contest which make it beneficial. On the one hand, the award amount provided by the competition will support the lives of photographers who earn less from their profession. Secondly, the pet photographers will be awarded $50.
