The American Legion Legacy Scholarship is a requirements-based grant intended to satisfy a monetary gap staying after all government and state instructive awards/grants access to a qualified candidate have been used. We all know that many times, the grants that have been granted through the university or state are not enough for the students to satisfy all their requirements and offset all the costs of acquiring education. As for eligibility, any children of U.S. military individuals who passed away while on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001, or children of post-9/11 veterans having been relegated a consolidated disability rating of 50% or more by the Department of Veterans Affairs likewise qualify for the grant. Each needs-based grant gives up to $20,000 in help for undergraduate or post-graduate school. Beneficiaries may reapply for extra yearly honors up to multiple times. The application cutoff time is April 15 yearly. Grant grants should be utilized within one year. Winners are declared each May.

Who is Eligible?
