Getting a degree is always beneficial in career and financial terms. Because of this reason, UNCF is offering TF Cornerstone/UNCF Long Island City Scholarship in order to provide financial assistance for students. Aspirants from Long Island City, New York are eligible to apply.
The United Negro College Fund is an American philanthropic organization that funds scholarships for black students and general scholarship funds for 37 private historically black colleges and universities.

Who May Eligible
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Long Island City, New York
- Candidates must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Students must be a current college freshman enrolled full-time at any accredited four-year institution in the U.S. for the 2019-2020 academic year.
How to Apply
To be a part of this program,
- Claimants have to complete an online application form
- Candidates must submit a one-page personal statement of career interest
- Aspirants are required to provide two letters of recommendation. One from a faculty member at the applicant’s school and one from a community member who has worked with the applicant
Benefits: The studentship will provide two 4-year scholarships of up to $4,400 depending on your unmet financial need.
