Texas Garden Club brings to you a scholarship program by the name of Nancy Griffhorn the VP scholarship in honor of the following: Nellie Day Trigg, Bess Buchanan, Florence H. Thomas, Mary Badham Kittel, Hazel Raske, Francis Ellis, and Ethel W. Spears. Every year the Texas garden club offers a large number of scholarships to students of Texas. These scholarships are being granted on a rotation basis in their respective names.
The following scholarship is open to the students who are legal residents of Texas. The applicants of this scholarship must be enrolled in a major related to horticulture. By horticulture, we mean horticulture, landscape design, horticulture, botany, biology, plant pathology, forestry agronomy, environment concerns, city floriculture planning, land management, and other allied subjects.
The Texas garden club, Inc., was founded in 1928 and headquartered in fort worth. The building is situated on the grounds of the beautiful Fort worth botanic gardens. The building is home to TGC’s staff and operates as a garden meeting center. TG’s headquarters also consists of a large private horticulture library west of the Mississippi.

Who is Eligible?
Following are the eligibility requirements that need to be satisfied for participating in the following scholarship contest:
- The applicant must be a resident of Texas.
- The applicant must be a college-level juniors or above.
- The applicant must have at least a 3.25 GPA.
- The applicant must be majoring in a field of horticulture.
- The fields of horticulture include floriculture, landscape design, horticulture, botany, biology, plant pathology, forestry, agronomy, environmental concerns, city floriculture planning, land management and other allied subjects.
