Young Audiences is organizing a designing contest, where you have to submit your art piece which should incorporate themes and images related to Young Audiences Fun for Arts, including a variety of art forms (such as dance, music, theatre, etc.), physical activity, and community. All the K-12 students of Oregon and SW Washington are eligible to take part in the contest. Only one entry per student is allowed and your design should necessarily be a unique creative idea of your own. The artwork can either be hand-drawn or digitally designed. The size should range between 8½” × 11” to 11” × 17”. If your design is digital, the file size has to be 300 dpi. The last date to submit your designs is on and before June 11, 2021. The Finalists will be announced on the social media platforms of the Young Audience.

The winning recipient will get a monetary reward of $350 and their designs will be printed on thousands of t-shirts, posters, and promotional materials which they will get a copy of. Founded in 1958 in Oregon, Young Audiences aims to inspire young people and expand their learning through arts. All they mainly do is connect a roaster of talented teaching artists with schools for artist residencies, workshops, and performances. The programs are exclusively designed by them to fit the specific needs of the schools. Over the past 43 years, Young Audiences’ Fun/Run for Art has helped schools with 18 million dollars for art experiences and has become an established North-West tradition.

Who May be eligible

All the K-12 students in Oregon and SA Washington who wish to showcase their talent in designing and art are eligible to take part in the contest. Your design should be a unique piece and needs to be submitted by June 11, 2021.

How to Apply

To apply, satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Your design should incorporate themes and images relating to Young Audience Fun for Arts, including a variety of art forms (theatre, music, dance, etc.), physical activity, and community.
  2. All K-12 students of Oregon and SW Washington can apply.
  3. Only one entry per participant will be entertained.
  4. Size should range between 8½” × 11” to 11” × 17”, or if digital, 300 dpi
  5. Design must include “Fun for Arts” & “2021-2022” written on it.
