The Sigma Xi Scientific Research honour Society has announced the T-Shirt Design Contest. All t-shirt designers are invited to apply! Sigma Xi is seeking prototypes for the official t-shirt of the 2021 Annual meeting and student research conference from high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. Send an innovative concept that integrates this year’s theme, Roots to Fruits: Responsible Research for a Flourishing Humanity, to enter the contest. This year’s 2021 competition is now open for this exciting competition attracting talents from across the country. So, if you are someone who likes designing creative t-shirts, make sure you take part!
The “T-Shirt Design Contest” is an initiative to bring together science and design. The discussion would focus on how scientific virtues benefit society. The fundamental principles that guide research activities, such as curiosity, integrity, sensitivity to facts, perseverance, diligence, objectivity, meticulousness, equality, and attentiveness, are profoundly ingrained in advancing the research process for the purpose of improving the human condition. These principles, when combined, contribute to intellectual honesty, which is manifested as new information and inventions for the benefit of mankind.
Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, is an international science and engineering honour society. Sigma Xi, one of the world’s oldest and most extensive research societies, has a long tradition of service to science and culture spanning more than 125 years. The Society’s membership is made up of scientists and engineers whose expertise covers all fields of science and technology. Sigma Xi chapters can be found at colleges and universities all over the country, as well as government laboratories and business study centres. More than 200 Nobel Laureates have served on the board.

Who May Be Eligible?
Candidates need to meet the following eligibility criteria to take part in the T-Shirt Design Contest:
- High school, undergraduate, or graduate students are eligible to apply
- There is a limit of one entry per student/team.
- Application from all disciplines are accepted
- Participants from all around the world can apply
How to Apply
In order to apply for the competition, the interested candidates are required to fill an online form. To get the application form and the details regarding the same, please Click Here. The participants need to make an original t-shirt keeping the following instructions in mind:
- Individuals or groups of up to three participants may build designs.
- To ensure a high-quality production, design submissions should be saved at 300 dpi. High-resolution JPG, JPEG, GIF, AI, PDF, PNG, and EPS files are appropriate.
- All submissions must be original pieces that incorporate the meeting’s concept, have never been written, and do not include profanity, patents, logos, or copyrighted works by anyone.
Benefits
This year the T-Shirt Design Contest, in collaboration with The Sigma Xi Scientific Research honour Society, is awarding the best prize ever! The winner will receive a complimentary registration to the 2021 Annual Meeting and Student Research Conference, held November 4–7 in Niagara Falls, New York. The logo will be included on official meeting t-shirts and shown at the conference.
