State Bank of India (California) is dedicated to assisting economically disadvantaged students in its commercial service regions in achieving their goals of acquiring higher education. As a part of its commitment toward students, they offer wonderful scholarships to high school seniors with award money of $1000. The deadline for the application is April 1, 2022. The students residing in Santa Clara County, Fresno County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, and Alameda County (Cities of Fremont, Newark, and Union City), are eligible for the application. The applicants may send their entry through an application form.
The prize money will be funded directly to their accounts once they are verified for the scholarship. With the help of this program, students can access quality education and take needed initiatives during their learning journey. The foundation understands the financial struggles of students who come from low-income families and wants to ensure that burden of educational expenses does not discourage them from achieving their highest potential.
APCF was created in 1990 by API community leaders in response to the need for alternative funding for nonprofits serving API populations in Los Angeles. According to a 1988 research by A3PCON, API agencies received less than 0.3 percent of all local foundation contributions before its establishment (Asian Pacific Policy & Planning Council). Only five API-serving groups were supported by the United Way of Greater Los Angeles in 1986. APCF launched employee giving initiatives at various workplaces, including private enterprises, federal agencies, state agencies, county agencies, local agencies, and nonprofit organizations, to generate funding for community groups that serve API populations.
