Santa Rosa Junior College is keen to announce their Doyle Scholarships to students who wish to apply to SRJC for the academic year 2021-2022. This scholarship will help students take a step closer to making over their academic life. The scholarship is based on merit and is open to students who are eligible to apply for SRJC’s undergraduate programs. A separate Doyle Scholarship application is required to avail of the scholarships. With the implementation of AB19, all first-time, full-time students may be eligible without consideration of income for a fee waiver or tuition reimbursement.

First-time applicants who wish to complete their education with ease, these scholarships are a way forward to do so. High school graduates from the Class of 2020 are eligible to apply. The purpose of the Doyle Scholarship is to support students who aspire to pursue their higher education at SRJC. It is designed to reduce the financial burden of students and their families and encourage the student to work hard and refine their future.

Santa Rosa Junior College was founded in 1918, It is one of the oldest publicly-funded community colleges in Santa Rosa, California. SRJC has a legacy of excellence in education, and the college offers over 100 majors. Keen on making a person wholly engage in various fields; the college aspires to be an inclusive, diverse, and sustainable learning community. The college offers associate degrees, transfer to four-year institutions, and career education with the help of a range of faculty members. The school follows a semester-based academic year with a student-faculty ratio of 20:1.

Who May Be Eligible

The following requirements are to be met to be eligible:

  • Local high school graduates from 2020
  • Unweighted high school GPA of 2.0+
  • Enrol in SRJC for a minimum of 6 units for Fall 2020
  • Complete an SRJC orientation
  • Have an SRJC education plan developed with an academic counsellor

How to Apply

For applying, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the school code to be considered for the scholarship. If FAFSA is not eligible for the student, he or she may also apply for the California Dream Act Application (CADAA). Entering SRJC’s school code in the mentioned applications, the eligible students will be automatically considered for the scholarships.

There are various benefits of being a Doyle Scholarship recipient. Firstly, new high school graduates who plan to enrol full-time in SRJC in the fall will have the opportunity to double the dollars they receive to enter school in his or her first year. The award amount is $1,200, which will be paid in full for students enrolled in 12+ units. The eligible students enrolled in 6-11.5 units, and their award will be pro-rated. An additional $250 will be awarded to students enrolled in 15+ units.

Application Deadline

The primary application deadline is March 2, 2021. Early applicants will be given much preference since funding has to be available till the secondary application date, which is on September 2, 2021. The secondary deadline is entirely based on the availability of funds.
