South Dakota Board of Regents JumpStart Scholarship

South Dakota Board of Regents is inviting Dakota resident students to apply for the incredible JumpStart Scholarship programme. Students should have completed the requirements of the recommended high school programme established by the Board of education and be awarded a high school diploma by a public high school in three years, or less are welcome to enjoy this grant. If you have completed pubic high school in South Dakota on a full-time basis for at least two semesters before graduating, then this programme is open for you.

The programme is designed to provide a student who graduates from public high school in three years or less to receive scholarship funds with a portion of the money saved by the state on state aid to education funding according to chapter 13-13. The scholarship aims to lower the financial stress on the students, which affects their productivity.

South Dakota Board of Regents is utilizing well the funds to help and support the education of students, which will ultimately benefit and enhance the growth of nations. The Board provides students with tremendous opportunities they deserve to grow in their respective fields and make their careers bright.

Who May Be Eligible?

Have a glance of eligibility requirement before proceeding with the application form:

  • Candidate should be a resident of South Dakota.
  • The aspirant should complete requirements of the recommended high school programme as established by the Board of education under 13-13 and be awarded a high school diploma by a public high school in three years or less.
  • The applicant should have attended a public high school in South Dakota on a full-time basis for at least two semesters before graduating.
  • Within one year of graduating from high school excluding any time served on active duty in the armed forces of the United States enrol in a college university or technical school accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools that provides instruction from a campus located in South Dakota.

Interested applicants who qualify all the above give criteria can apply for the grant through an online application form. Candidates need to download the form and submit it with all the details and the documents required for this programme. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered for this programme

  • A copy of official high school transcript should be attached
  • Other details verify the student’s eligibility are required

Benefits

The selected student will be eligible for $1500 that will be distributed equally across both the fall and spring semesters during their first year of post-secondary enrolment. This scholarship helps and encourages the student to do better in their respective fields and achieve their career goals.
