Our home, earth, has been losing biodiversity since most of the species are on the edge of extinction. The leading cause behind this is the problems created by humans. Polluted environment, filthy rivers, reducing forests, and overhunting can be counted as some of those reasons causing extinction in wild species. If we take a closer look at these problems, then we get to know that the current extinction crisis is complete of our own making. Humans’ reckless and selfish behaviour has led wildlife toward the brink of extinction. According to the scientist, around 1 million species might be extinct in coming decades if the needed steps toward preventing this problem are not taken on time. We can root this crisis out by raising awareness among people. To make its contribution in halting this problem, Explorers against Extinction has designed the “Sketch for Survival International Art Competition” for 2021.
This contest is open in several countries across the world, such as China, South Korea, Russia, Iran, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US, Brazil, Iceland, Dubai, Qatar, Turkey, Tanzania, South Africa and most countries in Europe. Applicants are required to be 16 years old and younger. The program also includes a people choice award for which winners are selected by public voting. Through your artwork, you can assist in making a stand against extinction and raise awareness about threats facing wildlife and wild spaces. Moreover, you can help raise funds for conservation through the sale of artwork while taking advantage of the wonderful perks this program has to offer.
Explorers against Extinction is also known as Real World Conservation Trust and has been dedicated to raising awareness of extinction crises that our world is facing and fund the initiatives taken toward halting this crisis. It also promotes the conservation of rare and endangered species and the protection of their environments. It raises funds for the particular project designed to help safeguard the natural world through creative initiatives, events, exhibitions, and our specialist travel network.
