If you love to write stories, then here is your chance where you can show your creativity through your writing skills. This Calcasieu Parish Public Library’s Short Story Creative Writing Contest brings an excellent opportunity for all the writers to publish their stories on the online platform. Story writers can put all their creativity into the contest. This short story writing contest is on your way to let you pick up the best image you can assume with. You must pick up an entry form and write a 3-5 page creative short tale inspired by a Central Library display to enter the Central Library’s Fall Short Story Contest. The entry deadline is November 30, 2021.
In the contest, you need to look for the strange setting near the entrance of Central Library that serves as inspiration for your work. At least five things from the setting must be incorporated into your tale. Fill in your contact information, then drop your completed entry form and essay in the Contest Entry Box near the exhibit. There will be two categories for winning short stories: Young adults (ages 10-17) and adults (18+). Staff from the library will be judging the stories.
The Calcasieu Parish Public Library welcomes everyone to access high-quality, innovative collections, resources, and services that improve lives and foster community connections. With the establishment of the Lake Charles Public Library in 1901, library services began. When the Calcasieu Parish Library system was established in 1944, it was enlarged. In 1973, the two libraries amalgamated to form the Calcasieu Parish Public Library.
